- 30 business checking bonuses are live as of October 25, 2026, each read on the bank’s or provider’s own offer page. 15 are open nationwide and 15 only in certain states.
- Most money for a small deposit: Chase pays $400 for $2,000 of new money held 60 days plus 5 transactions, which is $200 per $1,000 deposited. PNC matches that ratio, but only in its branch states.
- Biggest nationwide bonus for $25,000: U.S. Bank pays $1,200 for $25,000 held 60 days plus 6 transactions. Bank of America goes up to $2,500, but only for $200,000 of new money kept to day 90.
- No-fee fintech accounts: Bluevine pays $500 with code VYDE500 (hold $5,000 from day 31 to day 120 plus monthly activity). Found pays $200 when $2,000 of business income lands within 60 days.
- Ending soon: Associated Bank and TD Bank on October 31, KeyBank on November 6, Wells Fargo on November 10, Citizens on November 15, M&T and the Bank of America tiered offer on November 30, 2026.
- Taxes: a bank bonus is taxable interest, normally reported on Form 1099-INT (some banks use Form 1099-MISC). It is taxable even if no form arrives.
Right now 30 US business checking accounts pay a sign-up bonus, from $200 at Axos and Found to $2,500 at Bank of America, and the best value for a small balance is Chase’s $400 for $2,000. Almost every offer wants new money from outside the bank, kept for 60 to 90 days, often plus a few transactions. Half the offers are limited to the bank’s branch states, the bonus is taxable interest, and closing the account early can cost you the bonus or a fee.
This page is for US sole proprietors, LLC owners and small corporations who want to be paid for opening a business checking account. It is a live tracker: an offer drops off the list when its end date passes.
By the end you will know which offer fits the cash you can set aside, which ones you can open in your state, the steps that make or break a payout, and how the bonus is taxed.

Earn $400 to $2,500 depending on how much new money you deposit within 30 days ($5,000 to $200,000+), kept from day 31 to day 90.
- Enroll online through the offer page or with a Bank of America associate, and open a new Business Advantage Fundamentals or Relationship Banking account by November 30, 2026.
- Deposit New Money (not already held at Bank of America or Merrill) into the new account within 30 days of opening. The total sets your tier: $5,000–$14,999 = $400; $15,000–$49,999 = $700; $50,000–$99,999 = $1,000; $100,000–$199,999 = $1,500; $200,000+ = $2,500.
- Keep a daily balance of at least your tier's minimum from day 31 after enrollment to day 90 after opening. A dip moves you to a lower tier; below $5,000 on any day means no bonus.
- Cannot be combined with any other checking bonus offer, including the online-only $400/$750 offer.

The headline is the top tier, rarely the one a small business should aim for. Citizens leads at $3,000, but that is 12 months of fuel-purchase rebates plus a savings bonus that needs $40,000 parked for a year.
One entry, TD Bank, pays no cash: it waives monthly fees for six months on Business Premier Checking (three on other TD accounts) for accounts opened by October 31, 2026.
How do we check each offer?
Verified on the bank’s page. Every live offer was read on the bank’s or provider’s own offer page or terms on October 25, 2026. Dated. Each card carries the date we last checked it. Ended offers move off the list. The list hides an offer automatically after its end date, and we mark it ended if the bank pulls it early. Re-checked twice a week. We re-read every live offer twice a week and log changes in the changelog at the end of this page. Doctor of Credit is a lead, not a source. We use its bank bonus list to find new offers; nothing goes on our list until the bank’s own page confirms it. No affiliate links. None of the links on this page pays MainStreetRadar today, and no bank chose its position.
The rule “the bank’s page wins” changes real numbers. On October 25, 2026 the aggregators headlined U.S. Bank at up to $1,500 (the bank pays $1,200), PNC at $200 or $500 (the bank pays $400 or $1,000) and Chase at up to $750 (the bank has no $750 tier). We used the bank’s figure each time.
Which bonus pays the most for a small deposit?
The fairest comparison is the bonus divided by the money you must bring in. We took the lowest tier of each offer, the one a new business can reach, and worked out what it pays per $1,000 deposited.
Chase and PNC both pay $400 on $2,000, but they are not the same deal. Chase is open nationwide and pays within 15 days of the last step. PNC is limited to its branch states, needs 10 transactions and averages the balance over three statement cycles.
| Offer | Bonus | Money required | How long it stays | Per $1,000 | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chase Business Complete | $400 | $2,000 | 60 days + 5 transactions | $200 | Nationwide |
| PNC Business Checking | $400 | $2,000 average | 3 statement cycles + 10 transactions | $200 | 19 states + DC |
| Wells Fargo Initiate | $400 | $2,500 | To day 60 + 5 transactions | $160 | No states listed |
| Truist Simple / Dynamic | $400 | $2,500 | Day 30 to day 90 | $160 | 17 states + DC |
| Fulton Bank | $500 | $5,000 deposited | No balance hold | $100 | 5 states + DC |

| Found (code MILEIQ) | $200 | $2,000 received | Within 60 days | $100 | Nationwide |
| Huntington Unlimited | $400 | $5,000 deposited | No balance hold; open 90 days | $80 | 22 states |
| Axos Basic (new businesses) | $200 | $3,000 average | 4 of first 5 statement cycles | $67 | Nationwide |
Fulton and Huntington’s $400 tier count deposits, not a balance you must hold: the $5,000 must arrive as new money, but the terms do not require it to stay. The account itself must stay open (90 days at Huntington).
Earn $500 for $10,000 (or $400 for $2,000) in new money deposited within 30 days of offer enrollment and held for 60 days, plus 5 qualifying transactions within 90 days.
- Get the offer code by entering your email on the offer page and open a new Chase Business Complete Checking account between 2026-09-15 and 2027-01-21.
- Deposit new money (not already at Chase or its affiliates) within 30 days of offer enrollment: $2,000 for $400 or $10,000 for $500.
- Keep that balance for 60 days from offer enrollment; falling below may reduce or cancel the bonus.
- Complete 5 qualifying transactions within 90 days of offer enrollment: debit card purchases, QuickDeposit, ACH credits, wires, Chase Online Bill Pay or QuickAccept. ACH debits, Zelle and transfers to Chase credit cards do not count.

- A new sole proprietor or LLC that can spare $2,000 for about two months.
- Anyone who wants a branch network and a fast payout (within 15 days of meeting the steps).
- Anyone who had a Chase business checking bonus in the last two years (one per signer every two years).
- A business whose balance will sit under $2,000 later: the $15 monthly fee then applies.
Which no-fee fintech accounts pay a bonus?
Three app-based providers have live offers, and all three charge $0 a month on their base plan. None of them is a bank. Bluevine is a financial technology company, not a bank; banking services are provided by Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC. Found is a financial technology company, not a bank; banking services are provided by Lead Bank, Member FDIC. Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank; banking services are provided by Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.
- Bluevine, $500 (code VYDE500, ends January 31, 2027). Fund the account, hold $5,000 every day from day 31 to day 120, and in each of three 30-day periods either spend $2,000 on the debit card, receive $5,000 from a merchant processor or run $5,000 of payroll. Bluevine can reverse the bonus if the account closes within 150 days of funding.
- Found, $200 (code MILEIQ, ends December 31, 2026). Receive $2,000 or more into the new account within 60 days. Found has two narrower offers: $250 for $2,500 of Stripe or Square payouts (code 1800ACCOUNTANT) and $500 for Faire sellers ($250 per $2,500 of Faire payouts, code FAIRE500).
- Mercury, $250 by referral only. There is no public code; see the referral section below.
Earn $200 with code MILEIQ when you receive $2,000 or more into a new Found account within 60 days of opening.
- Sign up for Found through found.com/mileiq or with promo code MILEIQ by 2026-12-31.
- Link the new account wherever you earn business income and receive $2,000 or more into it within 60 days of account creation.
- Keep the account in good standing until the bonus is credited.

Found is built for sole proprietors and single-member LLCs, so it suits a freelancer who wants income to land somewhere separate. Its weak points: the $200 is the smallest bonus on the list, and Found says it reports bonus income only where the law requires, which does not change whether the bonus is taxable.
What are the biggest bonuses if you can park $15,000 or more?
Above $15,000 the bonuses get bigger, but the payout falls to about $50 per $1,000 or less. These tiers make sense when the money is already sitting idle in the business.
| Offer | Bonus | New money / balance | Hold | Per $1,000 | Where |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bank of America (online offer) | $750 | $15,000 | Day 31 to day 90 | $50 | Nationwide |

| U.S. Bank Platinum | $1,200 | $25,000 | 60 days + 6 transactions | $48 | Nationwide |
| KeyBank Business Reward | $1,000 | $25,000 | 90 consecutive days | $40 | 15 states, banker only |
| Wells Fargo Initiate | $825 | $25,000 | To day 60 + 5 transactions | $33 | No states listed |
| PNC Treasury Enterprise / Analysis | $1,000 | $30,000 average | 3 statement cycles | $33 | 19 states + DC |
| M&T, BMO, BOK top tier | $1,500 | $100,000 | Third month (M&T) or to day 90 | $15 | M&T 9 states + DC; BMO nationwide online; BOK CO |
| Bank of America (tiered offer) | $2,500 | $200,000 | Day 31 to day 90 | $12.50 | Nationwide |
Watch the monthly fee on these premium accounts. U.S. Bank Platinum ($30) and KeyBank ($25) waive it at the balances the bonus already needs. Huntington Unlimited Plus charges $40 a month unless your total deposits with Huntington reach $50,000 or a 25% owner holds one of its premium personal checking accounts, and PNC Treasury Enterprise charges $50.

Bank of America runs two offers that cannot be combined. The online one pays $400 or $750 and runs to December 31, 2026. The tiered one pays $400 to $2,500 and must be opened by November 30, 2026; between $15,000 and $49,999 it pays $700, which is $50 less than the online offer at the same deposit. Our Bank of America Business Advantage review covers what the account costs after the bonus.
Which offers are nationwide and which only work in some states?
Half the list is regional. A regional offer needs a business address or residence in the bank’s branch states, and some must be opened in a branch. Where the bank’s page prints no state list, we used its branch footprint; the terms link is the final word.
| Availability | Offers |
|---|---|
| Nationwide (15) | Bank of America (2 offers), U.S. Bank (2), Chase, Capital One (online), BMO and Wells Fargo (no state list printed; may follow the branch footprint), Amex, Axos, Bluevine, Found (3 offers), Mercury referral |
| East Coast and Mid-Atlantic based | Citizens (14 states + DC), M&T (9 states + DC), PNC (19 states + DC), Fulton (DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA, DC), TD fee waiver (15 states + DC) |
| Midwest based | Huntington (22 states), Associated (IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, OH, WI), KeyBank (15 states, banker only) |
| South and Southeast based | Truist (17 states + DC), SouthState (9 states), Hancock Whitney (AL, FL, LA, MS, TX) |
| Single-region | BOK Financial (Colorado), MidFirst (Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas branches) |
If you are inside a regional bank’s footprint, check its offer before the national ones: several pay more per dollar or come with a free account. Truist is a good example: $800 for $10,000 on Simple Business Checking, an account with no monthly fee, and a deadline of March 24, 2027.
Earn $400 for depositing $2,500 (or $800 for $10,000) within 30 days of opening Truist Simple or Dynamic Business Checking and keeping that balance from day 30 to day 90.
- Open a new Truist Simple Business Checking or Dynamic Business Checking account between 2026-07-14 and 2027-03-24 and enter the single-use promo code at opening. Minimum opening deposit is $100.
- Deposit at least $2,500 ($400) or $10,000 ($800) within 30 days of opening.
- Keep a daily current balance of at least that amount every day from day 30 through day 90. If a $10,000 balance dips below $10,000, you still get $400 if it stays above $2,500.
- The $800 is paid as two $400 instalments; the account must not be at $0, negative, restricted or closed at payout.
Remind me before it ends
SouthState pays for activity instead of a balance: $400 for 15 debit card purchases or $5,000 of incoming ACH credits within 90 days. Its “up to $1,000” needs a $50,000 balance, treasury services and card processing on top.
How do you meet the requirements without losing the bonus?
Most bonuses are lost on one detail: the wrong kind of deposit, a balance that dipped for one day, or an account closed too soon.
- Get the code attached at opening. Many offers only exist inside the offer page’s own application link (Bank of America, Huntington, Truist), need a promo code typed in online (Capital One: SBOFFER500), or need a code you request first and show to a banker (Chase by email, BMO and Associated in a branch).
- Bring new money, from outside the bank. Nearly every offer says “new money”: funds not already held at that bank or its affiliates. A transfer from another bank counts; a transfer from your own savings at the same bank does not (Bank of America also excludes Merrill).
- Check which transactions count. Business offers rarely need payroll direct deposit; they count transactions, defined differently: Chase and U.S. Bank count debit card purchases but not Zelle, Capital One and Amex count only electronic items such as ACH, wires and mobile deposits, and SouthState counts incoming ACH credits but not mobile or branch deposits.
- Hold the balance every single day. Bank of America, Associated, BMO and Hancock Whitney measure from day 31 to day 90, and Truist from day 30 to day 90. KeyBank wants 90 consecutive days above $25,000, and one day under forfeits the whole bonus. Keep a small cushion: fees can push you under.
- Keep the account open past the clawback date. M&T deducts the bonus if the account closes within six months and may charge a $50 closure fee. Associated can deduct it within 12 months. Axos charges up to $200 if you close within 180 days, and Bluevine can reverse the bonus within 150 days of funding. Chase excludes accounts closed within 90 days.
- Wait for the payout, then decide. Payout dates run from 15 days after the steps (Chase) to about day 104 (BMO) and the end of the fourth month (M&T).
“Day 30” and “day 31” are counted from different starting points at different banks: Truist counts the day after opening as day 1, Chase counts from offer enrollment, and Bank of America from enrollment or opening depending on the step. Put the bank’s own day count in your calendar, not a guess. Our deadlines calendar lists the offer end dates.
What does the account cost once the bonus is paid?
If you keep the account, its fee schedule matters more than the bonus after the first year.

Are business checking bonuses taxable?
Yes. Banks treat the bonus as interest, and almost every offer in our list says it is reported on Form 1099-INT. Axos says Form 1099-MISC or 1099-INT, and American Express says its points “may be reported on IRS Form 1099”. The IRS instructions tell banks to file Form 1099-INT for interest of $10 or more paid to a person.
Corporations are exempt recipients, so a bank need not send a 1099-INT to a C or S corporation; the bonus is still taxable income. And IRS Publication 550 says you must report all interest income even without a Form 1099-INT.
- Chase bonus at the $2,000 tier
- $400.00
- Federal income tax at an illustrative 22% marginal rate
- −$88.00
Kept after federal income tax$312.00
The form goes to the taxpayer ID on the account: your Social Security number for a sole proprietor, or the EIN for an LLC that has one. How it flows to your return depends on how the business is taxed; ask a CPA, an enrolled agent or a tax attorney. This section covers federal income tax only; state income tax is not covered.
What are the risks: ChexSystems, too many accounts and closures?
- ChexSystems. ChexSystems is a consumer reporting agency many banks use to screen people opening checking accounts, including the owners and signers of a business account. It records accounts closed with money owed and recent applications. An unpaid negative balance from years ago can get you declined, and Hancock Whitney’s terms explicitly exclude anyone with a checking account closed negative in the past three years.
- Too many accounts. Banks do not publish how many recent applications are too many, but several applications in a few weeks can look like bonus chasing. The offers also limit repeat bonuses: Chase allows one business checking bonus per signer every two years, Wells Fargo one per business and owner in 24 months, and Huntington may limit owners to one cash incentive, business or personal, per rolling 24 months.
- The bank closing your account. A deposit agreement lets the bank close an account, and some offers spell out bonus abuse. Huntington says it may close accounts without paying if it suspects churning. A closure before payout usually means no bonus, and a closure on a business account can leave invoices pointing to a dead account number.
Every offer needs a real business with a valid EIN or SSN, and banks check formation documents. A business invented for a bonus can end with a closed account and a negative ChexSystems record.
What about Citi, Santander and referral bonuses like Mercury?
Citibank and Santander: reported but not confirmed on the bank’s site. Citibank is reported to pay up to $2,000 on a new business checking account opened in a branch, and Santander $550 with code SMALLBUS550, also in branch. Neither offer or its terms appeared on the bank’s own website on October 25, 2026, and the reports disagree on tiers and activity rules, so they are not on our list.
Mercury: a referral program, not a public offer. A referral bonus is paid when an existing customer invites you through their personal link. Mercury pays $250 to you and $250 to the person who referred you when a new business account holds at least $10,000 for one full business day within the first 90 days. There is no public code, and we do not post referral codes or links. Mercury generally serves LLCs and corporations rather than sole proprietors.
No current public offer: Fifth Third, Relay, Novo, Lili, Grasshopper, Rho and Brex, as of October 25, 2026. Regions has only a $150 refer-a-friend reward, and Live Oak’s $200 offer ran in April 2026 only.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best business checking bonus right now?
For a small deposit, Chase’s $400 for $2,000 of new money is the best ratio among nationwide offers, at $200 per $1,000 deposited. For $25,000, U.S. Bank Platinum pays $1,200. The largest top tier is Bank of America’s $2,500, which needs $200,000 kept to day 90.
Can a sole proprietor get a business checking bonus?
Yes. Almost every offer on this page accepts sole proprietors, who usually open with their Social Security number. Mercury is the main exception, since it generally serves LLCs and corporations.
How long do I have to keep the account open?
At least until the bonus posts, and longer where the terms claw it back. M&T deducts the bonus if you close within six months and may charge $50, Associated can deduct it within 12 months, and Axos charges up to $200 for closing within 180 days.
Do I get a 1099 for a business checking bonus?
Usually a Form 1099-INT, because banks treat the bonus as interest; a few use Form 1099-MISC. Corporations are exempt recipients, so a C or S corporation may not get a form, but the bonus is still taxable income.
Are fintech business accounts safe if they are not banks?
Deposits at Bluevine, Found and Mercury are held at partner banks that are Members FDIC: Coastal Community Bank, Lead Bank, and Choice Financial Group and Column N.A. respectively. FDIC insurance covers the failure of the partner bank, not the failure of the app company itself.
